- Achieve a first-class GPA (as judged by the host institution) in each of the last two completed academic years.
- Each academic year, submit only one scholarship application to NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC.
- Have completed 0–12 months of full-time study (or equivalent) in the approved program.
